Winter Foraging – Usnea, Labrador Tea, and pine pitch.

Last week I had an opportunity to get out and enjoy some nature. The sun was shining, the temps were elevated for this time of year, and we were all (man, woman, and beast) tired of the recent cold spell spent indoors. It was a perfect week for wild-harvesting in the local forests.

We have already been drinking some of the Labrador Tea, and I will share future posts explaining the benefits and health properties of each of these botanicals.

The pine pitch will be further collected to create a larger batch, and I will process it by heat/oil infusion for use in skin care products.

Stay tuned…….and enjoy the rest of your winter! Here’s a few more photos of my adventures in the Great White North!
